IAPMO is the International Association of Plumbing & Mechanical Officials. Plumbing is what we do. We work with cities, towns, and villages all over the world to implement plumbing systems that keep people safe while keeping costs in line.

We stand for safety. We live by the code; a code that says that water is safe, that plumbing systems are strong and that our association is even stronger.

Our pledge of professionalism is written in the codes that serve generations across the life of millions of structures around the world.

Through our consensus-based process and convening of thought leaders in sanitation, water and sustainability, we open ourselves up to the genius of the entire community to create a stronger, safer, world.

In addition to model code development, IAPMO is North America’s premier mechanical and plumbing product certification agency, providing industry-leading education, personnel certification, product testing and certification, building product evaluation and a quality assurance program.

IAPMO’s International Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (IWSH) charitable foundation helps develop local plumbing infrastructure in parts of the world that have no piping, including communities right here in the US.

IAPMO is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) and entidad mexicana de acreditación, a.c. (ema) along with recognition by Comisión Nacional del Agua (CONAGUA).
